Getting started with AntibodyDB

Welcome to AntibodyDB. This guide will help you get started with managing, searching, and comparing antibody sequences.

Your dashboard

After logging in, your personal dashboard provides:

• Statistics summary: Count of your antibody sequences and recent activity
• Quick actions: Direct links to common tasks like importing and searching
• Navigation menu: Access to all main features

Working with sequences

Importing sequences. Upload your antibody sequence data:

1. Navigate to Add Antibody → Import File
2. Choose your format:
   • Standard CSV/Excel format
   • Cloanalyst Excel output
3. Select your file and add optional metadata
4. Click "Import" to process

Searching sequences. Find sequences in the database:

1. Use Search → Basic Search for simple queries
2. Enter sequence text or use filters
3. Try Advanced Search for detailed criteria
4. Export your results as needed

Sequence comparison

Compare antibody sequences to analyze differences:

• Select two sequences from your database
• View side-by-side alignment with highlighted differences
• See percent identity calculations
• Analyze CDR regions and framework variations

File management

Manage your uploaded sequence files:

• Upload: Store original data files with privacy controls
• View: Browse file details and associated sequences
• Download: Retrieve your original files
• Organize: Link files to specific antibody entries

User settings

Log in to access user settings and customize your experience.

Quick tips

• Visibility: Use the "Show all sequences" setting in your profile to control whether you see everyone's sequences or just your own.
• Security: Each user can only modify their own sequences, ensuring data integrity.
• Export: Search results can be exported to CSV or Excel format for further analysis.
• Import: Both standard formats and specialized Cloanalyst output are supported.
